Rewindex reads each day's close, checks whether the rules call for an entry or an exit, and fills that order at the next day's open after the fee and slippage you set. Stops and targets are checked against each day's high and low; if a single day touches both, the stop is counted first. A position still open on the last day is valued at the final close.
Assets appear when they are among the larger coins by market cap and have an active USD pair with daily history on the exchange used for candles. Stablecoins and wrapped or pegged tokens are left out because their prices follow another asset, along with a few novelty tokens.
Indicators need a run of earlier days before they are ready. When an asset's history is shorter than that, the test begins on the first day the indicators can be calculated. The report shows the actual dates.
Backtests depend on details such as the price source, the time zone of daily bars, when orders fill and how costs are counted. Rewindex uses UTC daily candles and next-day-open fills. The Playbook's “How Tests Run” page lists the assumptions.
Instead of holding from day one, DCA is compared with putting the same total in on the first day. Its growth figures are time-weighted so new contributions don't count as performance.
Saved runs, your Lab settings and cached prices stay on your device. You can clear the price cache or delete all runs in Settings.
No. Rewindex is a research tool for past prices. It doesn't connect to exchanges or accounts and doesn't handle funds.
